Hidden Legend of Orlando: LACHELLELUX by Lisa Rochelle

In December of 2003, while attending PACE. I discovered I loved hand sewing. It was soothing and relaxing. But, the best part was seeing the finished product. A few months later, my teacher and I made a deal. If I gotten all good reports from all my teachers for 3 months, she would teach me to make clothing, read patterns and take me fabric shopping. I Nailed it! All Great Reports! A year later, I started reading how to start a fashion brand and boutique from scratch. From sketching to fabric shopping to manufacturing. I then started sketching and creating a vision for my fashion brand. In 2007, I enrolled into IADT- Orlando to pursue my Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. I withdrew in 2009 and took a few years off to refocus. Using all the skills, I’d learned that far. In 2010, I had my own fashion show that showcased only my brand. I showcased 25+ looks, all handmade by myself. In 2011, I re-enrolled and went hard learning what I came to learn; pattern-drafting, draping, photoshop, illustrator, trend forecasting and practically everything about being a fashion designer and having a successful fashion brand/ boutique. In 2013, I submitted an application with sketches of my swimwear collection to showcase as en emerging fashion designer / brand in St. Pete Art & Fashion Week. My sketches and concept was Show Stopping and I was selected to showcase. For the next few years, I continued to showcase in St. Pete Art & Fashion Week as well as other fashion shows and showcases for more brand exposure. Over the years, I’ve showcased in approximately 20 shows or more. Using everything I’d learned and experienced over the years. I decided to rebrand my company and made some amazing changes.
