I’m an Inglewood native and lover of outdoor cooking with one goal: to give my people healthier options for good tasting food. Many of the seasonings on store shelves contain astronomical amounts of sugar and salt, which doesn’t bode well for the health conditions that disproportionately impact us. I created Station 1923 to give us healthier options for the flavors we love.
How are you impacting your community?
By providing health-conscious solutions and alternatives for some of our favorites — from BBQ to deep-fried dishes.
What advice would you give to someone looking to follow your path in the industry?
We’re just getting started! But don’t be afraid to keep trying until you get it just right. We don’t release a new seasoning until the flavor is nailed. Our flagship flavor, Brown Sugar Smoke took almost a year to get right.
What separates you from your competitors?
You won’t find our flavors anywhere else on the market — each seasoning or rub is an original, proprietary formula. We craft our rubs and seasonings by hand in small batches to ensure quality and freshness. And we never use any fillers, binders, or anti-caking agents. Full flavor, no fillers. Ever.
