Please provide a small bio of who you really are.
Brianda C. Johnson is a 25 year old graduate of Prairie View A&M University. Human Resources professional by day baker by night. Since she was a child she’s always had a passion for baking and cooking. As a NOLA native it’s only right that she’s a food connoisseur. She’s always dreamed of starting her own business and with the support of her family, friends, and God she’s decided to take a leap and start her venture into entrepreneurship. I encourage you to follow me on this journey.
What are you doing in your craft that impacts your community?
Growing up I was the oldest sibling on both sides and from a very young age I knew that I had big shoes to fill. I always wanted to lead by example for my siblings coming behind me. Starting my business was bigger than me, I wanted to show my siblings and the youth in my community that starting your own business is something that’s possible. BusyBees is a platform for me to make amazing desserts and motivate the younger generation to start something of their own.
What advice would you give to someone looking to follow your path in the industry?
The best thing that I can say is always follow your heart. If you have a thought about doing something don’t put it off, instead try it and see where it gets you. You never know how one small thought can manifest into a business.
